Here are some of the pictures from the SDA Trial in Athens, TN on November 1st and 2nd, 2008!

When we started to train for the Athens Fall trial, we realized that a lot of hard work would be required.  So we ......

"Healed" a lot!

Practiced our jumps a lot!

We "sat" and "platzed" a lot.....

And of course we practiced our protection work too!

Some of us counted on our "good looks" to get us by...

Others of us meditated......

And still others of us "drooled" at the chance to show what we were made of!
Well, anyway, the day finally came.  And is was a good day.  The trial started off with the "weight-pulling" contest.  The battle cry of "WOOORRRRRRRKKKKKKKK IT!  WorrrrrrrrKKK it! WOOOOOOOOOrkkkkk it!" could be heard across the land.

We had hamburgers, hotdogs, Chili, Nachos, potato salad, baked beans, cakes, cookies, candy, etc.  Not a soul went hungry unless by choice!  There was lots of people, lots of fellowship and bonding, lots of laughs and a good time had by all!

We were pleased to have Dennis Trzcinski join us for this event.  He is a Sergeant with the police force in Milwaukee, WI.   He and his dog Xeus competed for the Police Dog 1 title (PD1):  Here we see Dennis going to performing a pat down of a apprehended suspect.  The suspect will then resist arrest and Xeus will have to re-apprehend this "bad guy".

Have you ever noticed that dogs reflect the expressions of those people that they are around?  Here, let me give you some examples.....

Chris and Tigress won the "best synchronized snarl" contest.

After his 3rd try, Judge finally got his PD1 protection title.

All of the dog trained extensively for months prior to the trial.  Here we see some of that hard work paying off with these lightening fast recalls!!

Go Tigress!

Go Xeus!

The day was exhausting but in the end, all the hard work paid off

You could tell who won by the end of the day.  Heck, the next day I am sure that their co-workers had to enlarge the doorways to get their heads through them!

All and all, I think that everyone had a pretty good time!
